India On Stronger Commitment Towards Bilateral Cooperation And Development With Saudi Arabia

Muktesh K Pardeshi, Secretary of Consular, Passport, Visa, and Overseas Indian Affairs official visit to Saudi Arabia. The visit underlined the relationship between India, Saudi Arabia, and the Gulf Cooperation Council, reassuring the commitment to mutual peace and prosperity. The secretary also reviewed the preparations for Haj 2024 in Jeddah and Madhina and showed concern about the logistics and infrastructural development of Indian pilgrims. Approximately 175,025 Indian Pilgrims will visit Saudi Arabia under the Hajj quota in 2024. During the four-day visit from May 4 to May 7, the Secretary reviewed the state of living of 2.4 million Indians. The review shows how serious India is about the safety of their people. Also, more support for their well-being is assured. There were various meetings with Dr. Saud bin Mohammed Al Sati, the Deputy Minister of Political Affairs at the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Fields of on-grid connectivity were discussed for the ease and comfort of travelers.

Discussions over investment between the two Nations signifies the growth of the market for the robust economy which would expand the Indian market. The United Nations has also promoted foreign direct investment around the globe to combat climate change. The visit was also concerned with the economic key points for strengthening the infrastructure of the Indian economy, Matters regarding electricity, petroleum, and gas which included the matters of renewable energy and nonrenewable energy conservation. Various crucial sectors will be benefitted like economy, security, connectivity, International Trade, safety and comfort of the Indian pilgrims, electricity, gas and petroleum, Foreign Direct Investment, and the like. This together symbolizes India’s pace towards striving for development. India reaffirmed its commitment to strengthen cooperation which sends a global message that India is a trustworthy and cooperative Nation.
