PARK STREET, KOLKATA: A massive fire broke out on Tuesday morning at the heart of the city, in the Park Centre Building that stands on the intersection of Park Street and Camac Street junction.
According to Kolkata Police, the fire broke out at roughly 10.35 am on a rooftop cafe in the same building. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (South Division), Kolkata Police, Priyabrata Roy confirmed that no person was inside the building when it caught fire. However, as a precautionary measure, adjoining buildings are also being evacuated and cooking cylinders inside the restaurant were brought out from the blaze before they could cause further damage.

A disaster management team is investigating whether people are trapped inside the building. Seven firefighters are working on the spot. No deaths have been reported yet. Traffic movement is now being surveillance as well.
