Rajkot TRP gaming zone was in fire and had killed 27 people on Saturday, May 25. The culprits related to the incident have been arrested and the number goes to five.
Senior IPS Officer Subhas Trivedi said, “The State government has given us clear instructions to conduct a free and fair probe to ensure that injustice is not meted out to anyone. We have so far conducted a preliminary probe and seized all the relevant documents related to the game zone and further investigation is on”.
However, the samples of the deceased were taken for DNA test and sent for a forensic examination to Gandhinagar. At least 25 bodies could be identified. While Investigating, the officials confirms that the gaming zone’s co-owner Prakashchand Hiran was one among the victims of death.
Police arrests Yuvrajsinh Solanki, Rahul Rathod, Dhaval Thakkar, all game zone partners and its manager Nitin Jain, as per official.
Bharat Basiya, assistant commissioner of the Rajkot crime branch, said “Based on the intelligence we have provided, the local crime branch of the Banaskantha police detained Dhaval Thakkar from Abu Road and then handed him over to our team. Subsequently, he was brought to Rajkot and formally arrested at 10:30 am on Tuesday for his role in the fire at TRP Game Zone,”. Thakkar is the owner who has set up TRP Game Zone, an indoor and outdoor gaming facility on a party plot on Nana Mava Road in 2021. In 2023, Raceway Enterprise joined the venture and added a section of outdoor games.
Rajkot Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) told Parthraisinh Gohil that Kiritsinh Jadeja, a partner in Raceway Enterprises, which operated the game zone, was arrested from Rajkot – Kalavad road on Tuesday night.
“ We arrested accused Kiritsinh Jadeja near Rajkot last night, talking the total number of arrests made in the case so far to five,” Gohil said. He added “Out of six persons named in FIR, one Prakash Hiran has died in fire. During examination, the DNA sample of the deceased match with that of Hiran’s kin, confirming his death”.
As of now a local court in Rajkot on Monday, May 27 has taken Solanki , Jain and Rathod into a custody for 14 days for committing crime. The crime branch was supposed to deliver Thakkar before the state magistrate on Tuesday evening with a remand application.
