Virat Kohli To Miss T20 Warm-Up Match Against Bangladesh

Important player for India’s T20 World Cup team Virat Kohli may miss the team’s lone warm-up match on June 1 against Bangladesh due to a mini-break  following the IPL.

Both Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya and Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson will depart later than expected. A second group of Indian team players is scheduled to depart on Monday, after the first group departed on Saturday.

With 741 runs, including a century and five half – centuries, Kohli is currently the Orange Cap holder. He has played in all 15 RCB games, including the Eliminator, which the team lost to the Rajasthan Royals. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has been notified by Samson that he is postponing his departure due to “personal work in Dubai.” The three cricket players’ request has been approved by the BCCI.

“Kohli had informed us way beforehand that he will be joining the team late and that is why the BCCI has kept his visa appointment for a later date. He is expected to fly out to New York in the early morning of May 30th. The BCCI has agreed to his request,” a BCCI official stated .

The support team, including Mohd Siraj, Axar Patel, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, Shivam Dube, Kuldeep Yadav, Shubman Gill, Mohd Siraj, and India skipper Rohit Sharma, departed Mumbai on Saturday night.

India’s T20 World Cup campaign kicks off on June 5 against Ireland. On June 9, they take on longtime rivals Pakistan , following the games against USA and Canada .
