BJP Candidate Attacked, Security Injured During West Bengal Polls

The incident happened when Tudu, was on his way to Garbeta. According to the party (BJP), the BJP agents were not even allowed inside the polling booths.

A BJP candidate Pranat Tudu in Jhargram in West Bengal was attacked in the Garbeta area of West Midnapore during the on going sixth phase of Lok Sabha Polls. The security personnel got injured.

The incident happened when Tudu, was on his way to Garbeta. According to the party (BJP), the BJP agents were not even allowed inside the polling booths. Tudu said, “All of a sudden, TMC goons who had blocked the roads started hurling bricks at my car. When my security personnel tried to intervene, they were injured. Two CISF jawans accompanying me received head injuries and had to be hospitalized”, according to PTI news agency.

The video went viral of the incident when the attackers were pelting stones and was chasing the BJP candidate including his security. However the security personnel saved the BJP leader from the attack. On getting information of the attack, the police immediately was into action to supervise the situation.

TMC leaders denied the allegations made by the BJP leader and instead accused Tudu saying “Vitiate the peaceful polling process”.  A Local TMC leader said, ” The BJP nominee was threatening voters. The villagers got enraged and staged a protest”.

Even the media houses who were reporting on ground were been attacked too.
