Shops in Kedarpuri remained closed after the doors of Kedarnath Dham opened, During this time the devotees kept yearning for tea and water. The lack of food, made them rely on the biscuits and chocolates, which they carried with them. Due to the closure of shops devotees could not even buy Prasad for Baba Kedar. At the same time, the operation of horse-mule and stick carts on the pedestrian route also remained closed, which troubled a lot. At the same time after successful talks and written assurance in the evening, shops got opened.
Rajkumar Tiwari, President, of Kedarnath Sabha stated that the strike was called due to the forceful actions of the administration there.
“On 22nd April the administration dug pits in front of the residential buildings in Kedarnath without taking the permission from property owners. Due to this, the buildings are in danger. Also, excavation has been done at many places on the temple route due to which it is not possible to conduct business during yatra. Mohit Kumar and Narendra Kumar residents of Varanasi Uttar Pradesh stated that they could not even get a water bottle in the walking route of Kedarnath, they visited many shops for tea but all of them were locked.
