IMD Issues Red Alert Across Multiple States

Red alert has been issued by India Meteorological Department (IMD) in the States of Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Western Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat. Situations of heat stroke may arise so it would be better for the people to stay indoors.

JAFFARPUR – 48.6 DEGREE CELSIUS

Delhi records the highest temperature of 49.9 degree Celsius on Tuesday, May 28. Areas of Mungeshpur records 49.9 degree Celsius , Najafgarh – 48.9 degree Celsius  and Narela – 49.9 degree Celsius. Maximum temperature in Pitampur and Pusa records 48.5 degree Celsius, while Jafarpur reaches 48.6 degree Celsius. Temperature in areas like Safdarjung, Palam, CHO, Ridge and Ayanagar varies between 45 degree Celsius to 48 degree Celsius. After on May 15 and May 16, 2022 was highest since 100 years, May 28 records the highest.

Northwest and Central India are under severe heat wave condition. While, Rajasthan’s Phalodi reaches 50 degree Celsius on Saturday, May 25.

Even India Meteorological Department issues a  heat wave warning in Assam. The State records 40.1 degree Celsius, the highest temperature ever since 1960 on Saturday, May 25.

India’s Power demand counts to 239.96 gigawatts, highest this summer as the household of the country used Air Conditioners to escape the heat.
