Filmmaker Payal Kapadia makes history at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival as she secures the prestigious Grand Prix Award for her drama “All we imagine as Light.” The film secured its place as the first Indian film in three decades and the first ever by an Indian women Director to grace the festival’s main competition.
The Film screening received an eight-minute standing ovation. “All we imagine as Light” is the story of a nurse whose life takes a turn when she receives a mysterious gift from her distanced husband. Along with her roommate Anu she goes to a coastal town where the mystical forest serves as a sanctuary for their dreams.
