Orange Alert Issued By IMD In Some Part Of Kolkata

The Indian Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for thunderstorms, and lightning with gusty winds in Kolkata and eight other districts of West Bengal.

North 24 Parganas, South 24 Parganas, Purulia West Midnapore, West Burdwan, East Burdwan Bankura, and East Midnapore are the eight districts under the orange alert issued by the IMD on Friday. The official said “wind is likely to blow at speed up to 60-65 kmph”

IMD has also predicted heavy rains with thunderstorms in most of North 24 Parganas, East Midnapore, and South 24 Parganas.

The department issued a report stating that the possible impact of thunderstorms may include crop failure, damage to lost or unsecured structures, and traffic disruption in parts of cities. The department issued a yellow alert for rain and thunderstorm in Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri Kalimpong, Alipurduar, and Cooch Behar.

While on Thursday different parts of the state experienced heavy rain on Thursday. Rain-affected regions in Murshidabad, south 24 Parganas, Malda, North 24 Parganas, East Midnapore, Howrah, Kolkata, Hooghly Purulia, Jhargram, Bankura, West Midnapore, West Burdwan, East Burdwan Birbhum, Murshidabad, Nadia, North Dinajpur and South Dinajpur.

As the state has experienced excessive heat and humidity for the past month people are happy and enjoying this cozy weather. People are happily experiencing cozy weather.

IMD stated that the cyclonic circulation over Bangladesh and its neighborhood caused the sudden change in weather where the average temperature dropped from 40 degrees Celsius to 29 degrees Celsius in the state.
