MS Dhoni hasn’t publicly announced his retirement. However, a CSK (Chennai Super Kings) official has shared a message that Dhoni communicated to his management. The CSK were eliminated from the IPL 2024 after losing to RCB (Royal Challengers Bangalore) in their final league match on Saturday in Bengaluru.

CSK admirers were not just disheartened by the team’s elimination but also due to fact that they might have seen Dhoni play for the last time. However, a CSK official has disclosed that Dhoni hasn’t communicated yet to the franchise about his retirement plans.
In an interview with The TOI, a senior CSK official stated that the change of ball in the final over of the match significantly contributed to the team’s defeat against RCB. Thala was the first one from the CSK camp to head home, probably being deeply devastated due to the result against RCB.

TOI quoted an informant saying, “Dhoni has not told anybody in the CSK that he is quitting. He has told the management that he will wait for a couple of months before taking a final call. He did not feel any discomfort in running between the wickets, which is a plus. We will wait for Dhoni’s communication. He always has the best interest of the team in mind, let’s see what happens.”
In the IPL 2024, reportedly Dhoni played with enduring constant pain in his legs while playing.
