JP Nadda’s Father Votes From Home In Himachal Election

For the first time in a Lok Sabha election, Election Commission of India has provided the facility of home voting for senior citizens and people with disabilities.

On Saturday, BJP National President JP Nadda’s father Narayan Lal Nadda, cast his vote at Vijaypur under home voting for Senior Citizens.

In Himachal Pradesh, home Voting started on 21st May, for the first time in a Lok Sabha election, Election Commission of India has provided the facility of home voting for senior citizens and people with disabilities. Voters above 85 years of age and people with disabilities with 40% benchmark disability can get the optional home voting facility.

This initiative has helped to ensure inclusivity and accessibility of the electoral process and in supporting democratic participation. There are over 81 lakh 85+ aged voters and 90 lakh + PWD (Persons with Disabilities) voters registered throughout the country. This initiative sees to it that these voters can participate with ease and dignity, excluding the need to visit the polling stations.
