A vegetarian Gujarati lady receives a chicken tikka sandwich instead of a paneer tikka sandwich from a food outlet “Pick up meals by Terra”. She would ask the Consumer Court for a compensation charge worth 50 lakh from the business. She also says “Even 50 lakh is not worthy enough to replace the situation I have faced”.
Nirali is a pure vegetarian and lives in Ahmedabad. On Friday, May 3 she ordered a paneer tikka sandwich from her office which is in Ahmedabad’s Science City. Surprisingly, while having a bite of her food she understood that it is not a vegetarian food, which she ordered. She mistakenly receives chicken tikka sandwich instead of a paneer tikka sandwich. She says, “I had ordered a paneer tikka sandwich because I’m a health-conscious person, so I have ordered from an outlet which goes by the name Pick up Meals by Terra.
They deliver healthy foods. So, I ordered a Paneer tikka sandwich and I was served with a chicken tikka sandwich. I was not even aware of it; I assumed it was paneer. I took two bites of it then I realized that the texture wasn’t the same as paneer. Initially, I thought for a second that it tasted like soybean. When I opened it, I saw its chicken”. She also adds that “legally the restaurant has to pay 5000 rupees as compensation but I don’t think that even does any justice what I have faced personally because the incident was dreadful, it cannot be reversed. So, I will directly knock the consumer court and I have demanded compensation of 50 lakh and I will take it from there” She also said, “Even the compensation of 50 lakh is not still enough for what I have faced I could have demanded 50 crores but that is also not enough for I have faced”.
She gets trolled by the viewers as they think it is just a bad play of demanding 50 lakhs from a business outlet. The decision remains with the consumer court.
