On 20th May, Four ISIS terrorists were arrested at Ahmedabad airport. They are suspected to be in touch with some people in India. As mentioned by sources, the terrorists were given the task to target locations important for Jews. They were also asked to execute targeted killings of some Hindu leader belonging to BJP and RSS.
The terrorists- Mohammad Nusrat, Mohammad Nafran, Mohammad Faris and Mohammad Rasdeen were arrested by Gujrat Police’s Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS). As per Gujarat Police, the four terrorists were in touch with a Pakistani based ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) operative Abu. He had tasked them to carry out suicide bombing attacks in Gujrat.
The Pakistani resident Abu had also provided them with rupees 4 lakhs in Sri Lankan currency. It is believed that the terrorists were the citizens of Sri Lanka and had reached Ahmedabad from Sri Lanka Via Chennai.
The Ahmedabad Airport received a bomb threat via email on 12th May, which turned out to be a deception after security officers searched the airport and found nothing suspicious. The Threat email was sent to the official email id of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in the afternoon by an unknown and unidentified email.
