Known for directing Bollywood movies from the late 1980’s to the mid 1990’s, Filmmaker Sikander Bharti, died at the age of 60 on Friday. He was battling cancer for the past six months before passing away.
He was Cremated on Saturday in the presence of his family and friends. His last directorial debut was ‘Rangeela Raja’ starring Govinda. Bharti gained recognition for directing various films like Ghar ka Chirag with Rajesh Khanna, Chunky Pandey and Neelam, Zaalim with Akshay Kumar, Police Wala with Chunky Pandey, and Do Fantoosh with Amjad Khan and Shakti Kapoor.
He explored different types of genres like action, comedy and drama and he also worked with diverse range of actors. Some of his films also include ‘Rupaye Dus Karod’, ‘Sar Uthake Jiyo’, ‘Dand Nayak’ and so on. His Last film Rangeela Raja was a comedy Genre featuring Govinda in a double role and was released in 2019. During his lifetime he resided with his wife Pinky and three children Sipika, Yuvika and Sukrat.
