A moving bus carrying worshippers from Ludhiana and Hoshairpur in Punjab caught fire near Tauru in the Nuh district of Haryana on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway in the early hours of Saturday. At least nine persons, including six ladies, were burnt alive and more than fifteen were burnt.
The bus carrying about sixty passengers from Ludhiana and Hoshiarpur in Punjab met an accident at around two in the morning near Tauru on KMP. When they were returning from their tour to Ujjan, Mathura-Vrindavan, the moving bus caught fire. When the locals noticed the flames, they notified the fire department and police.
According to a local eyewitness, when they noticed the bus was on fire, they yelled at the driver to stop, but he refused. At that point, they followed the bus on a motorcycle and alerted him to the situation, but by then, the fire had also spread inside the vehicle.
According to a police official, nine people have been burned in total in this disaster, including three men and six women. Another fifteen people have been injured and are receiving medical treatment at the hospital. Every injured person is stable. The initial investigation Is being conducted by the police, and the cause of the fire is still unknown.
